In 2013 Manhattan Beach had more great white shark sightings than the town of Amity Island in the movie Jaws. So we couldn’t think of a better way to mark the 20th anniversary of the Manhattan Wine Auction than by inviting people to “An Evening of Delicious Food, Fantastic Reds and Great Whites.”
This is our 17th year of designing the invitations, posters, and 100 page wine catalog benefitting the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation. Little did we know that this annual event would grow into the largest wine auction in Southern California or that it would net over $1 million in 2013.
Keeping the ideas fresh and creative from one year to the next has been a challenge. Expectations run high that we’ll create something more outrageous than the year before. What makes this work so successful? First, our clients are really smart, so it’s easy to be aligned with their vision. Second, they’re all risk takers—sometimes challenging us to cross the line.
Here’s some of the work we’ve done for the Wine Auction through the years.
